Val Stoynova is a general internal medicine specialist in community and tertiary care in the South Island with added training in quality improvement and medical education. In 2020, Val and her pharmacist colleague Celia Culley launched The Critical Air Project, a sustainable inpatient medication management initiative focused on operational change, policy change and education, the interventions from which have been adopted across multiple Canadian centres.

Val is a zombie literature aficionado, passionate cyclist, and climate advocate who believes we can provide better patient care through climate conscious practices.
