Cheryl Surya
Leader, Capability Development, Learning & Analytics
Cheryl joined Health Quality BC in February 2025 and is a Leader within the Learning & Capability Development team specifically working on Disclosure the training program.
Prior to joining HQBC, Cheryl worked in various roles within Vancouver Coastal Health as a frontline nurse in the Intensive Care Unit as well as a Regional Quality Leader. She was privileged enough to work with many health care teams in delivering high-quality care and striving for constant improvement at the local and organizational levels.
Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Health Leadership & Policy with a specialization in Clinical Education from the University of British Columbia. She is also an alumnus of HQBC’s Quality Academy program. In her spare time, Cheryl likes to take dance and pilates classes, eat good food, and spend time with her husband and two dogs.
Cheryl is a first-generation settler of Chinese-Indonesian ancestry and respectfully acknowledges that her place of work is within the ancestral, traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
